　　许文强和丁力一起留在了冯府，在丽都戏院重新开张的日子，冯敬尧来捧场，程程也来凑热闹。丁力尽情的张罗着，可许文强怎么也不沾这些事，这让冯敬尧和祥叔看在眼里，他们越发琢磨不透许文强。九叔和斧头帮老大也纷纷来到了这儿，与许文强和丁力挑衅滋事。在赌场，冯敬尧与丁力谈论了人生，这让丁力的内心汹涌澎湃起来。　　冯敬尧、祥叔和丁力三人来到了丽都顶层办公室，冯敬尧把这间宽敞明亮的办公室给了丁力，丁力激动万分。由于赌场重新开张，方艳芸也来捧场，冯程程见许文强与方艳芸关系很好，心里还是那么不舒服。其间有赌客调戏方艳芸，被许文强教训了一顿，程程赌气让许文强送她回家，丁力过来安慰方艳芸，二人攀谈中，方艳芸一针见血的指出丁力其实也喜欢程程。冯敬尧和祥叔谈论着许文强和丁力，决定让许文强去建中大厦做正经生意，许文强是读过书的人，有头脑有报负，但和丁力相比太难控制，担心早晚会坏冯家的事。　　次日，冯敬尧和祥叔着谈论九叔被降职现在负责巡街，又提到许文强，冯敬尧打算让许文强在公司先去负责收购自来水厂的事情，但他的安排看起来似乎别有用心，许文强第一天来到建中大厦上班，冯敬尧向各位经理介绍许文强，但众人表现出冷漠的神情。　　丁力和母亲收拾着家里的东西，忙着搬新家的事。并派常贵去接许文强一起去新家。
